CHOIRS from across the North- East will be performing at the Royal Albert Hall in London this weekend as part of the Yorkshire Festival of Music 2003.
The event is organised in aid of Yorkshire Cancer Research and more than 50 choirs from the region, including the Northallerton Male Voice Choir, Alverton Singers and East Witton Male Voice Choir, will join together to celebrate Yorkshire's musical heritage at the festival on Saturday.
It will be compered by Gordon Kaye, star of television programme 'Allo 'Allo, and will see up to 1,200 choir members join forces.
The European Brass Band champions, the Yorkshire Building Society Band, and the renowned Sellers International Band will accom- pany the choirs in celebrating a variety of musical styles, from traditional hymns to modern tunes.
All proceeds from the event, which is held every three years, will help to continue work which has been funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research since 1925.
