Rohm and Haas JOC Hetton Youth League: One game was played in the league at the weekend and Ryhope's victory at Sacriston enabled them to move into joint pole position with Jarrow St Bedes.
Ashley Bridge scored an early goal for Sacriston and Ryhope did not equalise for another 35 minutes when Kyle Dinsdale converted a penalty award. Right on the stroke of half-time Michael Pattison gave Ryhope the lead and when he completed his hat-trick scoring twice in the opening 15 minutes of the second period, Sacriston were left with a mountain to climb. They pulled a goal back through Scott Embleton on 70 minutes, but in the last 20 minutes failed to get back into the match.
Jarrow St Bedes and Ryhope now have the same number of points, but Ryhope have played one game more than their rivals.
In the Subsidiary Cup Jarrow St Bedes also lead the table. They have won all three matches and have nine points, five more than second top Ryhope who have won one and drawn one of their two fixtures.

Durham County
Durham County under-18s defeated Cheshire under-18s 2-0 in their Northern Counties Youth Championship fixture at Billingham Synthonia's Central Avenue ground on Saturday to gain revenge for a 3-0 defeat by Cheshire in the same competition last season.
The home side had the encouragement of a goal in the very first minute. Durham pressed from the kick-off and Christopher Laws (Chester le Street) latched on to a defensive error to score.
Durham kept up the pressure and were rewarded when Laws scored his second goal in the 17th minute. A fine move started with centre back Robbie Blemings hitting a terrific 40 yard cross field pass to Steven Richardson who waltzed past the Cheshire full back and centred for Laws to side foot home from a couple of yards out.
With the rain lashing down both sides were playing good football, but it was Cheshire keeper Barry George who had more to do and he produced several good saves. After the interval both sides continued on the attack, but the hard-working George and Durham keeper Ciaran Ruttledge ensured the score line remained at 2-0.

Tow Law Juniors
Tow Law visited Seaham Hall in the County Cup and produced a below par performance to go down to two second half goals after hold a half time lead.
Defences dominated the early stages of the game, however after 22 minutes Kevin Yorke crashed in a 25-yard free kick, which gave Matthew Young in the home goal no chance. This inspired the Lawyers and Adam Sullivan and Nicky Martin both went close to increasing the lead.
Once again defences were on to at the start of the second half until Matthew Mustard levelled on 70 minutes. Five minutes later the same player hit a cracking shot from 20 yards, giving Lawyers goalkeeper, William Bland no chance.
The Lawyers hope to get back to winning ways on Sunday when they travel for a 1pm start at Washington Juniors.
