At the recently held annual meeting, Chairman Norman Smith reported a busy and successful year, both athletically and socially, with member numbers continuing to rise.
Harriers have competed in road, cross-country and fell races throughout the year with championship events attracting large turnouts. Thanks were expressed to Rob Burn for organising the weekly training sessions, to Pamela Sherlock for producing the monthly "Shorts" newsletter and to all other committee members for their work and support. Norman was once again elected Chairman, for the 26th successive year, with Ernie Huck as Club Secretary and Elaine Woolley Minutes Secretary. Rob Burn and Karen Hudson were appointed Club Captains and other Committee members are Sarah Somers, Alan Somers, Nigel Morgan, Alan Wikeley, Ian Codling, Marian Codling, Bernard Sherwood, David Granger, Louise Savory, Mervin Burn, Hywell Smith, David Shorrocks and Pamela Sherlock. Roy Bainbridge is a co-opted member.
The next NYSD League Cross-Country fixture is on Nov 16th at Newton Aycliffe, which unfortunately clashes with an extra Championship event, the Roundhay Park 5.
