A CROWD of up to 10,000 is expected to attend the annual bonfire and fireworks event at Durham Police headquarters on Wednesday.
Now in its 28th year, the joint Durham Police and Fire Service Guy Fawkes' show, at Aykley Heads, is expected to be as spectacular as ever.
Entry is from 6pm with the bonfire to be lit by Durham deputy chief constable Jon Stoddart an hour later.
The first of £3,000-worth of fireworks will be set off from 7.30pm.
Tickets can be bought on the night, or in advance, from all principal police stations round the county or from reception at Aykley Heads.
Car parking will be available on the night alongside County Hall and the DLI Museum.
Refreshments will be on sale at the event and entertainment will be provided in the lead up to the display by the Metro FM roadshow.
In line with previous years, Durham County Council branch of local government union Unison has contributed towards the night's events.
Tickets cost £1.50 for adults, 50p for children. There is no charge for the under-fives.
A total of £60,000 has been donated to local charities over the years from proceeds from the display.
