A TEENAGE girl stole goods from a Darlington shop twice in one day to help feed her drug habit, a court heard yesterday.
The 17-year-old took more than £100-worth of clothes from Matalan, in Neasham Road, last week, but was caught by a member of staff and arrested for theft.
Darlington Youth Court heard how the Darlington teenager first entered the store in the early afternoon of October 24 and filled a black leather bag with goods before leaving.
She returned three hours later and put a further £107- worth of clothing into the same bag.
Derek Walton, prosecuting, said the teenager, who admitted the offence, stole the goods in order to feed her cocaine addiction.
The magistrates heard that the girl was a persistent offender and was due to appear in court on Friday, November 14, for breach of a community rehabilitation order.
Bench chairman Dennes Gallaway ordered the theft case to be adjourned to the same date to allow a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
