ONE of Britain's most influential designers and artists will be featured in the main winter exhibition at the Bowes Museum at Barnard Castle this year.
William Morris and the Arts and Crafts Movement in the North-East, is showing previously undocumented works of art, many of which are from private collections and churches.
The designs and philosophies of William Morris were responsible for a massive change in interior design in the latter years of the Victorian era.
As well as more recognisable works by William Morris, the exhibition will also feature work by North-East artists and craftsmen inspired by him.
The research on the exhibition was done by artists, Neil Moat and Tony Peart.
Jane Whittaker, principle keeper at the Bowes Museum, said: "The North-East is not as well known as some places for this kind of art and so this is the first time a lot of these exhibits have been seen together."
The exhibition will continue until February 29.
