A talented musician who has released his first CD will play at a Revolution gig later this month.
Adrian Morgan Hopper has just released The Boy From Anywhere and is set to begin touring. His first stop will be at Revolution's Platform in Darlington, November 21.
"I'm absolutely over-the-moon that I've been asked to play at this gig," said Morgan. "It's a turning point for me from playing in pubs to launching off to playing in venues like arts centres and theatres.
"I'm happy to be playing in Darlington too because it's like a second home to me," added Morgan, who's from Bishop Auckland.
Morgan has a rock-folk feel to his music. His influences include Dylan, Neil Young and Woodie Guthrie.
He'll be joined on stage by his producer Chris Davidson on the hand drum, and guitarist Anthony Davidson, who also plays in Darlington rock band Unlearn.
Richmond duo Eskimo and Amsterdam-based Dave Relton, who also hails from Richmond, will perform at the gig too.
Dave opened for Morgan at his CD launch party in September, and Morgan, 30, says he's honoured to be playing with Dave again. "He's a talented musician and I love his work."
Morgan's tour will continue with a gig at The Studio, Hartlepool, on January 15.
He has recently acquired a distribution deal with musowire.com for world-wide distribution of his new CD.
Platform will take place at the Darlington Arts Centre. Doors open at 7.30pm, and tickets are £3, available at the door.
Platform presented by The Northern Echo's music website, Revolution. The gig is sponsored by Darlington streetwear store Fourth Chamber and presented, in part, by radio station 96.6tfm.
