CADETS are to learn rock climbing and kayaking, after raising more than £400.
Chester-le-Street Air Cadets raised the funds by collecting goods from family and friends that they then sold from a market stall in the town.
The initiative raised £437 to fund a winter training programme.
Acting Commanding Officer of the 1507 Squadron, Graham Blackie, said: "This is a great boost to our finances. We are now able to support our planned winter training programme of indoor rock climbing and kayaking.
"We'd like to say a big thank you to all those who donated bric-a-brac and all those who made purchases."
