A GLASS firm is on target to treble its turnover in only its second year of business.
BIGStudio Glass Design, of Hartlepool, was set up in April last year by decorative glass experts Andy Burt and Suzi Dear, with help and financial support from Business Link Tees Valley.
It expects to increase turnover from £90,000 to £265,000 at the end of the year and has increased staff from two to five.
The company already has two business awards under its belt, having been named Best New Start at the Hartlepool Business Awards 2002. Creative director Ms Dear won the technology category at the 2003 Women in Business Awards in May.
BIGStudio specialises in design, visualisation and manufacture of glass pieces and has won commissions in a wide range of sectors including nightclubs and restaurants, retail and architecture.
Recent work included a feature window at the Psyche store, in Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, which helped the store to the Best Retail/Commercial building exterior title at the 2003 Middlesbrough Design Awards.
