Bishop Auckland's Gary Wearmouth made it four wins from four outings when he took the latest round of the North East cyclo-cross series.
Wearmouth, who missed the previous round at Stocksfield to contest a National Trophy event at Ipswich, resumed his winning ways in Border City Wheelers' race over a 14-mile course at Talkin Tarn Country Park near Brampton, Cumbria.
Alan Nixon (Cleveland Wheelers), also second to Wearmouth at Hetton Lyons in round three, claimed second place in the Border City event ahead of Neil Withington (My Way Trust) and veteran Bryan Pool (Anderson Racing).
Wearmouth led from the gun in the 12-lap race, with Nixon holding second position and Matthew Kipling, winner of the Stocksfield race in Wearmouth's absence, lying in third until dropping off the pace on the tenth lap and slipping to sixth.
Darlington's Keith Murray finished closest to Three Peaks record holder Rob Jebb in the fourth round of the Yorkshire CCA points series on a course at Bishop Burton College, East Yorkshire.
Jebb, the top fell runner turned cyclist who has won the last three versions of the Three Peaks marathon, was completing a weekend double after a win at Liverpool the previous day.
Murray led for three of the 12 laps of a two-kilometre course at Bishop Burton before Jebb took over and went on to open up a 69-second margin.
Murray, with two top-three places in Yorkshire series events already to his credit this season, held on to second place by 20 seconds from Northallerton's Noel Clough, the series winner two years ago, who made a winning return last month after breaking his wrist in a fall at Grasmere Sports at the end of August.
