A UNIVERSITY creche for students and staff with pre-school children has been improved.
St John's College - Durham University's only college with a creche - has expanded following refurbishment, with funding from Durham City Council's Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership and the European Social Fund.
Ofsted has granted the creche permission to extend its opening hours to provide full day care for university staff and other workers in the city.
The creche, in South Bailey, Durham, was started ten years ago by students at Cramner Hall, the theological college within St John's.
