A STOCKTON wildlife enthusiast has produced a book detailing the birds and other wildlife in the town's Great North Park.
Ian Lawson, who lives near the park in Norton Grange, has written the text and done the art work for the book, entitled A Natural History Guide of the Great North Park, Stockton-on-Tees.
Backed by £4,476 of funding from the Stockton Residents and Community Groups Association, Mr Lawson has had 2,000 copies of the book printed by local firm Graphic Example.
It is being launched by the Mayor of Stockton, Councillor Ann Cains, at Norton Grange Forum, on Monday, November 24 and will be available free from local schools, libraries and community centres the following day.
Colin Powles, a Great North Park ranger who helped to secure the funding, said: "This book will prove invaluable to people wanting to learn more about the Great North Park and the wildlife that can be found in it and we wish Ian success with the launch."
