AN east Cleveland community will reap the reward of its hard work with the switching on of the town lights.
Members of the Saltburn 500 Club have installed the town's Christmas lights after once again raising the more than £4,000 to pay for them.
Community fundraisers have had a tough year after vandals sawed down the Christmas tree last December and poisoned the Saltburn-in-Bloom flowers in the summer.
But fundraisers including Jackie Taylor have vowed to beat the vandals. She said: "So many people put in such hard work to make things like this happen. You just have to continue on, even after vandals and people like that make life difficult."
The lights will be switched on at 5pm after a fun day and charity market on Saturday, November 29.
Speccy the Clown and Punch and Judy will provide entertainment for the children, while South Bank Band and Marske Junior Band provide music.
Money is still being received by Saltburn 500 Club to be used to convert more of the current lights to the longer lasting 12 volts bulbs. The Christmas tree is provided by Saltburn Town Council.
