PEOPLE setting off fireworks late at night in Hartlepool are being urged to be more considerate to residents.
Police in the town have received numerous complaints from residents in the Lindon Grove and Eldon Grove areas, bounded by Elwick Road and Park Road.
PC Chris Bell, of Hartlepool police, said: "We have received complaints from people saying fireworks have been going off in the area up to midnight.
"We do not want to spoil anyone's fun, but would request people to show consideration for families in the area that might have young children in bed.
"Elderly people also can be quite frightened by the sudden noise.
"If anyone is still planning a fireworks display, please make sure all fireworks are set off no later than 9pm."
