A parents and teachers association has received a £4,500 grant from the National Lottery.
Preston Park Primary School PTA in Eaglescliffe will use the Lottery Awards for All money to buy equipment for after schools activities.
Jo Anderson, of the PTA, said: "We have worked very hard to make a success of the after schools activities and this grant will help us continue to offer exiting and interesting courses for the children."
The school also recently opened a resource centre funded by Stockton Borough Council, the Foyle Foundation, which donated £6,000 and the Lottery Awards for All which donated £4,935.
Aboriginal storyteller Francis Firebrace held the children spellbound as part of the celebrations as the centre was opened.
The centre was named after Councilllor Marjorie Galloway, who has been on the board of school governors for many years.
