AN Army bomb disposal team last night blew up an anti-tank grenade found on a seaside construction site.
The controlled explosion was carried out on the Mowlem construction site, between Redcar and Marske, east Cleveland.
The Second World War grenade was designed to penetrate tank armour and was live. Roads were closed off as a precaution.
Mowlem is carrying out a £6m scheme for Northumbrian Water including installation of pumping stations and sewers.
