POLICE say they are increasingly concerned for the safety of a missing hospital patient.
There have been two reported sightings of John Pedalty, 57, from Bishop Auckland, on the A66 in the Darlington area and in Crook.
Mr Pedalty walked out of the Lambton Ward at Darlington Memorial Hospital at about 7pm on Monday.
He is described as 6ft, of large build, with blue eyes, white unkempt hair and beard. At the time he disappeared he was wearing grey jogging trousers, a mustard anorak and training shoes. Mr Pedalty is believed to frequent betting offices.
