CRICKET club officials have thanked their community for helping a Bonfire Night go with a bang.
Annfield Plain Cricket Club, in north-west Durham, staged its second annual Guy Fawkes firework event last week, following a successful trial attempt last year.
It attracted more than 2,500 people to the Enterprise Park ground, raising funds for several projects planned by the Tyneside and Northumberland Senior League club.
A club spokesman said: "Everything went to plan. It was run successfully, well-marshalled and everyone had a great night.
"We are learning lessons all the time about staging something of such a scale and we now hope to make it even bigger and better next year."
Club officials particularly thanked social committee helpers Brian Rumney, Malcolm Ainsley and Gordon Gregerson for their time and commitment in organising the event.
They also expressed gratitude to the surrounding community for its support and for putting up with the noise and disturbance on the night.
