NURSERY children now have their own toy library.
Nearly £1,000 has been spent on toys and games for the new library at Roseberry Primary School's nursery, in Pelton.
Under the SureStart Chester-le-Street initiative, children are allocated a game a week, which will help them develop skills such as co-ordination, numeracy and literacy.
Enough toys have been purchased to cover every area of the curriculum and so that children can take home a different game or activity every week of the year.
The library, which opened this week, is run voluntarily by parents Janice Hartley and Claire Lowes, along with help from SureStart.
