Barnard Castle 3, DGSOB 1: Barney were indebted to keeper Daniel Pritchard for keeping the scores level following a great double save.
Old Boys then turned into benefactors as they gifted Barney the lead allowing Clint Cole to cross to Dale Dryden who blasted home from 20 yards. Robert Fell was then wiped out and the youngster dusted himself down to convert the resultant penalty. The second half saw Old Boys introduce three subs and one of these, Chris Scott, pulled one back with a superb strike from the edge of the box. However, as Old Boys piled men forward, Barney broke away and Ian Spence notched their third to give Barney their second successive win. Dryden was outstanding for the winners and David Morgan matched his efforts for Grammar.
Greyhound 4, Grey Horse 1
The top two met for the second week in succession and Greyhound exacted revenge for their defeat the previous week by racing into a three-goal lead with two headed goals from Peter Robson and a side footed effort from Alan Robson. Darren Tate pulled one back before half time when he converted a penalty, but he and his colleagues squandered several good chances in the second half and victory was sealed when Peter Robson completed his hat-trick on 70 minutes, he was Greyhound's man of the match and Neil Roddy was Horse's best.
Newton Aycliffe 5, East End WMC 4
Aycliffe were reduced to ten men following a dismissal after only 15 minutes and did remarkably well to trail their visitors only 3-2 at the interval. The home side were indebted to Dale Anderson for their second half comeback and victory as he notched four on his debut. Craig Barrigan was Aycliffe's other scorer and Darren Winter (2), John Gibson and Roy Winter were unlucky East End's scorers.
l The league's two representatives in the Darlington Charity Cup both bowed out at the first hurdle. Hole in the Wall suffered their heaviest defeat of the season 6-0 at H'pool Chester, while Heighington lost 3-1 to W/A Queens Head.
