COMPUTER fan Steve Matthews is the proud owner of an X-Box after entering a competition organised by the Richmondshire Broadband Group.
The contest was part of the group's campaign to bring broadband Internet communications to the district.
Steve, from Catterick Garrison, won an X-Box - which enables computer games to be played on the Internet. It was donated to the group by British Telecom.
Richmondshire District Council's chairman, Councillor Michael Heseltine, presenting the prize, said: "Broadband is a vital service and offers exciting opportunities. There is a great impetus in Richmondshire for its expansion into rural areas and this event highlights that."
Broadband services were recently made available to Richmond town, while Catterick Garrison and Catterick Village will have a service through their telephone exchanges from Wednesday.
