Richmond and Zetland Harriers: On November, Saturday 1, Andrea Woodvine competed for Nottingham University in the second North Midlands X-C League fixture at Heanor in Derbyshire.
Clubs from Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire are involved and she finished fourth which her Coach, Graeme Nicholson, says "augurs well for the rest of the season, as the competition in this League is quite high."
Richmond and Zetland Harriers had just two runners in the Guy Fawkes 10 on Sunday 2. Glynn Harby of Nidd Valley Road Runners, the organising Club, describes the course as "tough, with tortuous hills" - not an understatement given the winning time of 53:06 from Darren Bilton of Leeds City AC, 2 seconds shy of the course record but considerably shy of his PB. Colin Sewell and Paul Scott, the former RAF and the latter Army but both employed at Leeming, were a fair bit behind but both were happy with their performances - Colin completed what he called "an undulating course" in 74:24 for 113th place and Paul was 151st in 74:46.
On Tuesday 4, many of the Club's younger athletes were competing for their Bedale or Leyburn, Northallerton or Richmond schools in the North Yorkshire Schools X-C Area Trials at The Allertonshire School, all hoping to be selected for their respective teams and to earn their County colours - results soonish!
Tomorrow is the Brampton to Carlisle 10 Road Race and on Sunday, there is the second NYSD X-C League fixture, hosted by Newton Aycliffe AC at Windlestone Hall near Rushyford, with the first race for under 13 boys at 1pm.

The Guy Fawkes 10, ran in beautiful surroundings from Ripley Castle, attracted a large field with over 600 finishers. Darren Bilton of Leeds AC was the winner in a time of 53.06 minutes, the time giving an indication of some tough hills round the course.
Oliver Harrison, in his first 10 mile race, finished in 77th place in 1.11.43, Ernie Huck 90th in 1.12.30, Alasdair Thorpe 125th in 1.14.49, Alan Harman 163rd in 1.17.18, Alan Somers 169th in 1.17.39, Pat Kirby 288th in 1.23.41, Steve Harrison 294th in 1.23.59, Peter Scanlon 355th in 1.26.58, Ian Codling 358th in 1.27.08, Sarah Somers 491st in 1.35.48 and Marian Codling 557th in 1.45.37.
