SIX people appeared in court yesterday charged with conspiring to supply heroin.
It follows drug raids in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, on Wednesday.
The six appeared at Richmond Magistrates' Court for a preliminary hearing and will go before Teesside Crown Court on Thursday.
Philip Ryan, 33, of South Parade, Geoffrey Dobson, 27, of Knotto Bottom Way, Paul Miller, 25, of Bank Head Close and John Miller, 23, of Ashlands Road, all Northallerton, and Helen Kemp, 21, and Shaun Fletcher, 24, both of Hilton Square, Brompton, were charged with conspiring with others to supply heroin.
Mr Ryan was also charged with unlawfully and maliciously administering heroin to a 21-year-old, Daniel Walker, and Paul Miller with threatening to kill an undercover police officer. Mr Ryan, Mr Dobson and Paul and John Miller were remanded in custody while Mr Fletcher and Ms Kemp were released on conditional bail.
A total of eight arrests were made during the raids, codenamed Operation Malt. Two women were released on police bail on Wednesday and five more people, arrested yesterday morning, are being questioned by Northallerton police.
