CIU League: The quarter finals of the League Knock Out Cup produced some very tight finishes but Crook Belle Vue's visit to Cockton Hill was expected to be the tightest but finished with a comfortable five points win for the visitors.

Crook took the darts by three points and then won both dominoes and pool by the odd point.

Ferryhill were taken to the decider by the visiting Crowtrees, who did well in the darts section with wins from Gary Galloway, Steve Ireland, Billy Edwards and Bobby Usher with Eddie Ashman making the only reply. The dominoes went in Ferryhill's favour with wins from Billy Cooper, Lee Richardson, Bomber Harris and Steve Wray with Steve Johnson the only Crowtrees winner. The pool games went level when Steve Webster and Steve Wray won for Ferryhill and Paul Moralee and Alan Blakey levelled. In the deciding pool match Ferryhill edged to victory when Gary Taylor beat Ray Miller.

Auckland Area

CIU League

West Auckland were able to hold on to their three points lead at the top of the darts section after they only dropped one point to the visiting Horndale. Barry Shippen won the only point for Horndale whilst West Auckland had wins from Robert Douthwaite, John Denham and Chris Kitch to add to the team game.

Eldon Lane are in second place in the darts following their odd point win at Evenwood. The home side won the team game and added one singles through Mick Holmes, but Billy Percival, Stephen Weldon and Brian Coglan took the Lane to victory.

Old Shildon crashed to their first dominoes defeat when they only took one point from their visit to Cockton Hill. Alan Hobson was the only scorer for the visitors, whilst Alan Lamb, Brian Singlewood and Alan Lithgow took the Hill to victory, although Old Shildon remain one point clear of West Auckland at the top of the section.

Cockton Hill replaced Old Shildon at the top of the pool section following their two points victory over their rivals. Dennis Race, Brian Singlewood and Russell Place won for the Hill with Michael Aldworth taking Old Shildon's lone point.

Horndale were whitewashed at whist by West Auckland and now have to share the top spot with Eldon Lane, who drew with Evenwood. The Newton Ayclifffe team turned the tables on West Auckland by whitewashing them at fives and threes to four points clear at the top of the section.

Willington Club B suffered their third consecutive defeat in the darts section when they went down to their A team but still hold an eleven points lead at the top. Willington Club A have moved up to second place, with a three points lead over Sunnybrow Brown Trout.

Willington Cottles A have taken over at the top of the dominoes section and hold a two points advantage over Willington Market and Willington Burn, who are now two points ahead of Hunwick Joiners Arms.
