A NORTH Yorkshire teenager has set her sights on attending the British Eventing squad trials next season.

Rachael Lupton, aged 16, from Awmack House livery yard, Thornton le Beans, has had an exceptional year eventing with her two horses. All she needs now to help her on her way is a sponsor.

She bought Another Mcquade two years ago as a grade B show jumper and since then she has hunted, pony club and show jumped him and has gradually progressed to eventing.

Their success this year has been achieved through a lot of hard work, helped by Richard Howard and Jo Graham.

The pair have taken firsts at Bishop Burton and a second at Witton Castle as well as being placed at Aske Hall, Skipton, Richmond and Houghall.

Another McQuade has gained 18 British Eventing points. Starting the season at pre-novice level, he is now ready to go intermediate, fuelling Rachael's goal to take him along to the 16-18 years British Eventing squad trials next season.

Her other horse, four-year-old Blue Brook, was bought by Rachael herself, who realised his jumping potential, and two years later he is ready to go novice.

She believes he is the horse to look out for in the future after trying him out with success at several events and would be delighted with sponsorship from any local businesses.
