Lanchester Social dropped their first league points of the season when they were involved in an eight-goal thriller with Chopwell.
The win still took the Social one point clear of nearest rivals Blackhill Comrades and the Lanchester side have also played one game less.
Lintz Cricket Club also hit four goals but they recorded maximum points when seeing off Blackhall Mill 4-1. Wayne Murray scored twice along with Craig Johnson and Mark Benson with Lee Brown on target with the Mill's consolation goal.
In Division Two, two Danny Gilbert goals were crucial as Bute Arms edged out the Plainsman 2-1 with Glenn Ferry on target for the visiting side while the Smiths Arms recorded a 4-2 win at Steel Club.
There was a hat-trick for Paul Cox and two others for Eddie Panton in a 5-3 away win for Shaftoes at the Cricketers who replied with an Adam Inglestone brace and another from Scott Anderson.
Colin Pither's effort failed to save Oxhill Central from defeat at home to the Highwayman who responded through the ever-reliable Gavin Rowell and Darren Alberts. Doubles from Ricky Gobbo, John Charlton and David Sewell were the highlights of an 8-2 Horse & Groom win in Division Three over Cronniwell for whom Stephen Brown (2) scored.
Burgoynnes were 7-0 winners at Medomsley Miners where David Nicholson scored a hat-trick, there were two others for Graham Drinkall and singles from Scott Revel and Andy Clark.
Durham County Cup
STATESIDE pulled off a stunning success to make further progress in the Durham FA Sunday Cup.
The Consett side came back from a goal down at Stockton Roseworth to grab an odd goal in five success with goals from Thomas Bushby and Scott Watson.
Leadgate Golden Lion are also through to the next round draw, but are still not sure of going that far.
Their match away to Gateshead Allerdene was abandoned after 80 minutes because of an injury to a home player and will be replayed this weekend. It was 1-1 at the time with Mark Turner scoring for Lion.
Jack Grigg Memorial Trophy
There were plenty of goals at the Delves who edged out the Freemasons by a 5-3 margin.
James Park and Joe Clark were the Delves' match winners with a hat-trick and brace of goals respectively with two-goal David McFarlane and Chris Dawson replying.
Consett Charity Cup
BALL ALLEY were left snookered when they travelled to the Burton House and were hit for six.
The Burnopfield side ran out 6-2 winners with a couple of those goals netted by Graham Gill. Others followed from Anthony Broughton, David Jennings, Dean Nicholson and Steve Bainbridge. Alan Small and Darren Scarr responded with the Ball Alley strikes.
Dean Laddie steered the Scotch Arms to a 5-1 home success when they came up against the Smelters Arms. Laddie claimed an excellent hat-trick with the others falling to Andrew Hill and Steve Hauxley.
