Darren Burnham hit three goals for Whitehill against his old club Durham Victoria Bridge.
Mark Elliott got two with Graham Embleton adding to the tally. Nick Barker replied for Durham.
Hartlepool Town had a fine 3-0 win at home to a strong Durham City Reserves. In the first half Durham were the better team pinning Hartlepool back in their own half but were unable to break down Hartlepool's stubborn defence. In the second half things changed when Hartlepool stepped up a gear. In the 60th minute Terry Hill crossed to Chris Birkbeck who slipped the ball to James Parkinson who scored the first. Five minutes later Parkinson was in the thick of things beating two defenders then set up Jeff Cooper who volleyed in from 15 yards. In the 85th minute Chris Birkbeck hit a tremendous shot from 50 yards. The ball dipped over the keeper's head hitting the underside of the crossbar on its way into the net.
Durham University held Belford House to a 2-2 draw. Matt Bailey and Chris Hose getting on the score sheet. Michael Conner and Mark Green replied for Belford.
Seaham Mallard won 3-1 at home to Birtley Town Reserves. Garron Morton converting a 30th minute penalty. Birtley levelled though John Sexton, but it took something special to separate both teams and that came in the 84th minute. Jonathan Reynoldson received the ball in his own half, he moved forward chipping the ball over the Birtley's defence then struck the ball under the keeper. His second goal was almost a carbon copy, except that he finished the move hitting the ball over the keeper in the 89th minute.
Brandon Prince Bishop went down 2-1 to Hartlepool FC in the Washington Aged Peoples Trophy. Hartlepool went in front after ten minutes, when a mix-up in the Brandon's goalmouth allowed Chris Clark to score from close range. Brandon levelled on 20 minutes when David Fort sent a cross from the right for Graham Stobbs to head in from 12 yards. The score remained 1-1 after 90 minutes with the games progressing into extra time. Ten minutes later Hartlepool won the tie on the golden goal rule, when a cross from the right found Andrew Harris who made no mistake heading in.
Shildon Railway made progress in the Trophy with a 3-2 away win against Seaham Town. Michael Raine opened the account for Seaham scoring his first goal for the club in six years with a bullet header. Shilden drew level after 17 minutes when Neil Robinson hit a fine goal with a shot from 18 yards. In the second half Tim Hole put Shildon in front, tapping in a simple chance after a mix-up in the box. Twenty-five minutes into extra time, Stuart Blackett scored the clinical golden goal, scrambling the ball home after a defensive mistake.
