Newfit Services Willington: The Prospect Club made their second big consecutive win to throw off the memories of two heavy defeats and lift them up the table after only dropping three points to Sunnybrow Brown Trout B, who just managed to edge up from the foot of the table.
The Prospect had singles wins from Paul Morris, Norma Davison, Harold Farrer and Trevor Bourne, whilst Norma Davison with Paul Morris and Sheila Crookes with Trevor Bourne took doubles points before they finished off by taking the team game. The Trout's points came from ray Corner and Kenny Longhorne in the singles with Carol Hawkins and Kenny Longhorne adding a doubles point.

Tow Law New Market A took advantage of the fact that leaders, Newhouse Club had a bye to move to the top of the table following their seven points home win over Esh Stag's Head. This victory moved the Market seven points clear at the top with a match in hand, whilst Newhouse Club lead the third placed Billy Row Club by 15 points.
The Stag's Head got away to a good start at the New Market A when they took the first trebles but then they hit a long bare patch where the home side took the second trebles and had singles wins from David Dixon, Bob McFadden, John Parkin, Collin Armstrong and Gary Parker before Ken Brown took the final singles for the Stag's. The Market completed their victory by taking all three doubles points.

Crook Jelly's Bar B made a fine home win over Crook Belle Vue for the loss of only two points but then found out that they still trailed the leaders, Crook Queen's Head A who had only dropped three points on their visit to Billy Row Green B. This leaves the Queen's eight points clear at the top of the table with a match in hand and a record of twenty wins from twenty matches.
The leading individual scorers were Carol Spencer 140 for the New Market B, Val Readman 135 for the Victoria, Alison Miller 124 for the new Market A and Julie Nelson 123.

The joint leaders hold a four points advantage over Crook Royal Sun and Crook Bar 56, who share the third place.
