Bishop Auckland and District League: Crook Olde Horse Shoe closed the gap at the top to two points after they edged through a very tight home game to beat Henknowle Manor by the odd point.
This leaves Spennymoor Ash Tree at the top with just one match left. The Ash Tree are at home to Witton Park Rose and Crown, whilst the Olde Horse Shoe have to visit Bishop Auckland derby.
The Olde Horse Shoe had two singles points from both Gavin Witton and Richard Walker with Johnny Mason and Dave Walker adding one each. The Manor replied with two points from Bill Turner and one each from Peter Mernor and Steven Webb. Ronnie Wright and Bill Turner won the doubles for the Manor, who levelled the match when Steven Webb beat Gavin Witton in the first captain's game but Gavin took his revenge and a victory for his team when he won the second. This point also won him the Captain's trophy
Spennymoor Weardale pulled off a good home win over Tow Law Station when they had two points each for Shane Casen and Geoff Williams with Martin Short, Ian Fox and Steve Sinclair adding one each. The Station had one point each from Andrew Burrows, Shuan Umpelby and David Craggs. Shane Casen and Geoff Williams then clinched the Doubles Title before Martin Short and David Craggs shared the captain's games.

Tow Law Scottish Courage League
Tow Law Dan's Castle A were able to extend their lead at the top of the table to four points after they only dropped one point to the visiting Tow Law Station. The visitors took their only point in the first frame when Christopher Reed made a significant win over Anthony Hird, who lost his sole ownership of the top of the Player of the Year award. The Castle singles points came from Lee Stockdale, Ian Johnson, Alan Henderson, Colin Armstrong and Gary Watson.
Sunniside Comedian stayed in second place, nine points ahead of Tow Law Football Club after they won by three points at Newhouse Club. The Comic went four up with wins from Ray Johnson, Dave Walton, John Conley and Morgan Errington before Ian Dinsdale and Dave Golightly opened the home account. However the visitors completed a safe victory when they took two of the three doubles.

Ushaw Moor Catholic Club travelled to Bowburn Cooperage edged through to victory by the odd point. Ian Toase, Paul Vasey and Wayne Watson all had two wins whilst Eric Patterson won the other game for the Catholic Club. The Cooperage replies came from Andrew Dunn two wins with Simon Jackson, John Williams, Steven Teasdale and Brian Latue adding one each.
Sacriston Daisy Hill B took advantage of former leaders, Consett Stateside match being postponed, to go to the top of the table after they only dropped three points at Ushaw Moor Winnings. Framwellgate Moor Marquis of Granvby also vaulted over the Stateside with their three points home win over Bowburn Hare and Greyhound. Daisy Hill B are three points ahead of the Marquis and seven ahead of Stateside, who have a match in hand.

Spennymoor were held to a draw at Crook B and now need ten points from their outstanding match against Newton Aycliffe to snatch the Championship from the holders, Horden. The draw proved costly for the Crook team as they slipped into fourth place, one point behind their A team, who won by two points at Newton Aycliffe.
Things were looking good in the first round of matches at Crook B for the Moors raced into a 5-2 lead by the halfway stage. The home side only had wins fro Gerald Parkin and Gavin Witton, whilst Ronnie McAloon, Richard Turner, Dave Elliott, Steve Hunter and Paul Biddle put them ahead.
The second half changed completely as Crook B came back strongly to move 7-6 ahead with wins from Gavin Witton, David Stephenson, Johnny Mason, Darren Tinkler and Cliffy Owen with Ronnie McAloon scoring for Spennymoor. In the final frame Spennymoor forced the draw when Richard Turner beat Les Scott.

Auckland Area League
League leaders Spennymoor Voltigeur A entertained their neighbours from the Hillingdon and it was home player Toby Biddle, known to all as "Officer", drawing on his vast experience, who led the side magnificently. He started the match off claiming the first singles game and his teammate Andy Mole followed suit. Dale Briggs pulled one back for the visitors before Kelvin Anderson and David Graham made it 4-1. John Taylor took another point for the Hillingdon before Kelvin Anderson and Toby Biddle put the home side into a 6-2 lead. Baz Walton and John Bulmer closed the gap by taking two for the visitors. Those were to be their final points of the evening as David Graham with Andy Mole and Dean Mains with Tony Biddle took both doubles and Darren Briggs won the captains game to leave the Voltigeur with a 9-4 win.
Home side Bishop Auckland Beehive got off to a great start with Michael Richardson, Kevin Hopton and Steven Gwin winning the first three singles games before the visiting Spennymoor Voltigeur B replied with two games each for Richie Turner and Steve Jones and one each for Paul Summerfield and Alan Shaw. Paul Ferguson took the final singles game for the home side. Rachel Rowell with Kevin Hopton and Steven Gwinn with Nigel Stevens took both doubles games to level the score at 6-6, but Steve Jones took the deciding captains game to give the Volti B victory.

Willington and District League
Willington New Inn produced the shock of the week when they ended the unbeaten run of the visiting Sunnybrow Brown Trout with an odd point victory. The home side took a two points lead after the singles where they had wins from Dominic Milburn, Phil Blyth, Des Ayre and Ian Spowart with Dave Blackburn and Tony Atkinson replying for the Trout. The visitors then made a great fight back to level the match by taking the first two doubles only to see the New Inn snatch victory when Dominic Milburn and Paul Cater beat Harry Sewell and Dave Blackburn.
Despite the defeat, Sunnybrow Brown Trout still lead the table by seven points, with Byers Green Royal Oak in second place, nine points ahead of Willington Burn.
