A NATIONAL orchestra consisting entirely of an unusual stringed instrument is to perform in Mickleton Village Hall, near Barnard Castle.
The Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain will be giving the concert on Sunday, November 30.
The orchestra has performed at London's Ronnie Scott's Club, the Chicago Chamber Music Festival and the Bath International Music Festival.
Stan Walinets, who has helped to bring the band to the village, said: "Anyone who attends will hear warped, yet strangely moving re-interpretations of rock, jazz, classics and hokum. It is an all-singing, all-strumming collection."
The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from Mickleton Post Office, Mickleton Service Station, by telephoning (01833) 640066, or at the door.
