A MENTAL health service in Darlington has received an award.
Staff from Earlston House, which provides short-term support for people with mental health problems, received a cheque for £500 at County Durham and Darlington Priority Services NHS Trust's first annual award ceremony.
The team was recognised for developing its immediate support service for patients to include an informal guest facility.
The immediate support service was set up in July 2001 and has three beds with 24-hour access. The guest facility enables mentally-ill patients to spend time at Earlston House during the day on a less formal basis.
