A CAMPAIGN group seeking justice for fathers who are denied access to their children is planning a series of publicity events in the region to highlight their plight.
The Angel of the North, the Baltic arts centre and the Tyne and Millennium bridges, in Tyneside, are all to be used in the campaign organised by Fathers 4 Justice.
The protest group has already courted controversy with headline-grabbing stunts in London, the most high-profile being when David Chick scaled a 50ft crane near Tower Bridge dressed as Spider-Man.
It is now forming a North branch after being inundated with calls from fathers.
Local co-ordinator Paul Watson said: "We have got hundreds of fathers around the North who are willing to do anything to get themselves heard."
Mr Watson, who will hold the North's first Fathers 4 Justice meeting in Newcastle this month, said a range of events were being planned.
He said: "We are looking at using the Angel, other guys want to hang off the side of the Baltic, and we are looking into jamming up the Tyne Bridge and doing something with the Millennium Bridge. There will be marches through the city as well."
