ARTISTS celebrated ten years of working in the community with a weekend-long birthday party.
Bearpark Artists' Co-operative opened the doors to its base in Bearpark community centre, near Durham, for a range of events to mark a decade of outreach work.
The celebrations included art workshops and taster sessions. There were also performances from Coal Pits Poetry, of Durham, and music from the Old Ropestring Band and the Dan Foster Jazz Trio.
The artists exhibited some of their own work, along with paintings by groups which members have worked with, including children and adults with learning difficulties.
An estimated 400 people joined in the celebrations.
John Foker, a founder member of the co-operative, said: "It was exhausting, but very worthwhile.
"It was important to us to get in people from the village to see what we do. We were pleasantly surprised how many came in and had a look around."
