STUDENTS at a Darlington school reaped the rewards of their hard work over the past year at a prize-giving ceremony this week.
Branksome pupils received prizes for achievement in sport, subjects, or for excellent results at its annual awards evening on Wednesday.
Acting headteacher How-ard Gilfillan said: "The evening is to give us the opportunity to celebrate what we have achieved and reflect on the progress the school has made. We celebrate academic achievements as well as all-round success.
"There are areas where we know we can improve, but we do provide a good service for young people and always meet the challenges set for us, both externally and internally.
"We often succeed with our young people where others have failed."
Guest Peter Rowley, director and chief executive of Darlington Building Society, presented prizes to pupils.
The audience was entertained by the school's choir and its other young musicians, including a bagpipe player.
