President George Bush arrived at tony Blair's Myrobella home transported in Marine One followed by a Black Stallion US Navy helicopter at 11.55am.
The aircraft landed on the green outside Myrobella where he and his wife Laura were greeted by Tony Blair and wife Cherie.
They were escorted into Tony Blair's home.
Clusters of residents stayed on the village's main street in the hope of catching a glimpse of the President. John Naylor, 41, of Trimdon said: "The most powerful man in the world is here. Who would have thought it? It's like a fairy tale."
