Billingham Wolves were 4-2 winners over Telford Trojans at the Forum Ice Arena in the English U19 North A league.
Wolves were short-handed when Steven Pritchard put his side ahead in the fifth minute.
Telford took advantage of a powerplay to equalise on the 23rd minute mark, but five minutes later Billingham restored their lead through Robert Dowd.
Trojans came back to level again on the powerplay in the 47th minute.
Both sides were looking for victory and Telford called a time-out at 56.17. James Udell sent Wolves ahead again at 58.18 as they put pressure on Telford. In search of an equaliser Telford pulled off their netminder in favour of an extra forward. This back-fired when Wolves scored a fourth to make certain of victory. Liam Telfer fired the puck into an empty net at 58.36 and two valuable Wolves points.

Telford remained in the North-East on Saturday and faced Whitley Braves at Hillheads and came away 6-2 victors. Three goals in four minutes, two on the powerplay, put Telford 3-0 ahead in the first period.
Braves' netminder Stephen Hoult was being kept busy, especially in the middle period, facing 24 shots on goal. However, not one went past him. The only goal of the period went Whitley's way through Ben Campbell, the goal coming with Braves short-handed at 25.09.
Trojans restored the three-goal lead at 49.19 and a minute later Robert Wilson netted Braves second goal of the game. Wilson's goal came after team mate Ryan Sample was ejected from the game for roughing.
Telford also had a player thrown out of the game in the second period on a match penalty for kicking. Trojans wrapped up the win with two late goals.

Billingham Bears remain top of the English U16 North A League following a 3-0 victory at Hull Ice Arena against Kingston Crunch. Robert Dowd put Bears ahead after nine minutes. Bears were well in control throughout the game and restricted Crunch to only two shots on goal in the first two periods.
It was not until the last few minutes that Bears increased their lead. Dowd scored twice to complete a deserved hat-trick.

Sunderland Mohicans travelled to Grimsby Vikings for an English U14 North B League match and went down to an 8-3 defeat. Vikings had a 2-0 lead before Joshua Lalande opened Mohicans' account at 17.53.
Grimsby scored four without reply to lead 6-1. A minute into the final period Jake Shanks and Lalande added to Mohicans' tally and Vikings also struck twice to complete this victory.
The previous day Mohicans met U14 North A League side Billingham Falcons at the Forum Ice Arena in a challenge match. Mohicans got off to a good start and led 2-0 with goals either side of the first interval from Daniel Coffey and Jack Watkins.
Falcons began their reply at 21.00 through Drew Thompson and further goals from Andy Finn (2), Robert Heale and Jonathan Galloway gave them a 5-2 advantage. Watkins' second for Mohicans was quickly followed by Finn's hat-trick marker.
Alistair McGill and Finn made it 9-2 and Watkins completed his hat-trick with three minutes remaining.

Whitley Bay Squaws had a comfortable 16-2 win over Sheffield Shadows North in a women's division one game at Ice Sheffield Squaws went ahead at 02.20 with a Sarah Barnett strike and she doubled this lead at 03.26.
Becky Kasner scored the first of her five goals in the game 12 seconds later. Sara Christie also hit five and scored two and a Sarah Smith strike put Squaws 6-0 ahead before Sheffield's first reply at 13.01.
Sheffield's second came with Whitley 8-1 ahead in the 22nd minute. Two goals in the second and another six in the third completed Squaws' biggest win of the season.

English National Hockey League North
There were contrasting results for two of the region's clubs at the weekend. Sunderland Chiefs with home advantage suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Grimsby Buffaloes at the Telewest Arean.
Buffaloes went ahead at 05.24 and David Michie tied the scores three minutes later. Grimsby, beaten by Chiefs three weeks ago, went behind for the only time in the match in the 31st minute with a strike from Paul Rolfe.
Chiefs should have increased their lead, but failed to convert numerous chances that came their way. Grimsby drew level three minutes into the final period. A defensive error allowed Grimsby their winning goal at 56.26.
Sunderland handed a debut to netminder Rick Ashton after being released by English National premier league side Solihull Kings. He faced 20 shots during the game.
Jeremy Lundin, 15, scored his first senior points when he assisted on Chiefs' second goal.

Billingham Bombers completed a league double over Kingston Jets following a 3-2 win at the Forum Ice Arena. Andrew Thornton sent Bombers on the way with the opening goal after seven minutes. They had to wait until 30.29 when Andrew Wells doubled the Teessiders' advantage and five minutes later Scott Ward increased the lead to 3-0.
