STARS from perennial television favourite Blue Peter have taken to the air - with the help of the Royal Air Force.
A team from the ever-popular children's show travelled to RAF Linton-on-Ouse, near York, to film part of an upcoming special.
Presenter Liz Barker flew in a Tucano trainer with the station's display pilot Flight Lieutenant Martin Day, during a sortie that included an inverted spin.
The Blue Peter special - One Hundred Years of Flight - will be broadcast on Wednesday, December 10, and ten minutes of the programme will be devoted to Liz Barker's Linton experience.
Viewers will discover exactly what goes into a training sortie and, with the help of an in-cockpit camera, will see just how Liz reacted to the stunts.
