A TASTE of Asia came to County Durham as pupils at a Teesdale school celebrated completing a family learning project.
All the pupils in Bowes Hutchinson school contributed to a video called The Ocean of Friendship as part of a Connect Family Learning Project.
To celebrate the completion of the video, an exhibition was held in the village hall with screenings of the video, stalls, games and a demonstration of Asian dancing.
The video, which was about the god Vishnu coming to save the world, contained animation, puppetry and dancing.
The project aims to bridge the gap between the generations by using the arts to learn skills and strengthen friendships in the community. The children were helped by several people, including Bowes artists Janet and John Degnan, and Bangra dancer Satnam Singh.
Gerardine O'Connor, the Connect project co-ordinator, said: "It was a marvellous day and a really nice atmosphere. We had a lot of children and parents who came along to see the video."
