MARTIAL arts competitors from County Durham won 66 medals at a national contest.
Members of the Darlington and District Kim Chung Do Kwan Taekwondo clubs competed in the English Taekwonmudo Academy Championships.
The contest was held in Sheffield and involved competitors from across Britain.
Chief Instructor, master Ron Brennan, 5th Dan taekwondo, said: "The overall standard of the competition was excellent, so for our students to come back with medals is a great achievement."
Gold medal winners were: Katey Wallace (Darlington); Heidi Rogan (Darlington); Sue Taylor (Darlington); Janice McAuley (Darlington); Richard Crawford (Weardale); Fran Sewell (Weardale); Emma Roscher (Darlington); Robbie Bates (Darlington); Hannah Hatfield (Newton Aycliffe); Nikki Beresford (Darlington); Jamie Walker (Darlington); Tom Smith (Darlington); Jake Beaverstock (Darlington); Adam Peel (Eastbourne); Lee Sampson (Eastbourne); Geoff Peacock (Darlington); James Thorpe (Darlington); Andrew Vipond (Weardale); Kim Roberts (Weardale); Travis Bacon (Darlington) and Craig Lizun (Eastbourne). Team trophies were awarded to Darlington Adults, Taekwondo Fighters, Team Matrix and Darlo Dragons.
