A COURT hearing to publicly examine Darlington Football Club chairman George Reynolds about his business affairs is expected to be adjourned because he is said to have been suffering from depression.
Mr Reynolds was due to appear before a judge at Teesside Combined Court's county court section tomorrow to answer questions about one of his former businesses.
A petition to compulsorily wind up George Reynolds UK, which was based in Shildon, County Durham, was presented to the Manchester District Registry in February.
Richard Tennick, a fellow company director, was also due in court for the hearing. But the hearing is expected to be postponed after a doctor said Mr Reynolds should not appear.
The Quakers' chairman told The Northern Echo last night: "With the stress of everything that has been going on, I have been on medication for depression for some weeks. On my doctor's advice we have asked for an adjournment."
If the adjournment is granted, it will be the second time the hearing has faced a delay.
It was originally due to take place at Darlington County Court on September 22, but a district judge ruled that the half-day hearing scheduled would not be sufficient.
