A BRUSH with ill-health has prompted a North Yorkshire mum to raise money to help others with kidney problems.
Keeley Gregory, 24, of Norton, in Ryedale, was concerned when a routine check-up suggested she had kidney problems. She had to undergo a number of scans and tests and was confined to bed for a day after a biopsy in hospital in York.
In the end, doctors could find nothing to explain the anomaly and the pre-school worker and auxiliary nurse was given the all-clear.
However, Keeley's ordeal inspired her to do something to help others and, tonight, she has arranged an evening of bingo and a raffle at the Railway Club in Norton, in aid of the Yorkshire Kidney Research Fund.
"I just feel lucky to be healthy," said Keeley, who is married and has a four-year-old son, Baron. "I decided to help as there are people a lot worse off than me."
