A music society is hoping to provide some early festive cheer with a charity concert next month.
Scorton Music Society will present an evening of Christmas music and readings at Kiplin Hall, between Richmond and Northallerton, on Friday, December 5.
Proceeds from the concert will go to Chopsticks, in Northallerton, which provides employment for adults with learning difficulties, converting waste timber into kindling for sale in local shops.
The organisation is hoping to raise £9,000 to buy a stick chopping machine to run alongside its present equipment, which is 60 years old.
Tickets cost £7 and include refreshments.
