RECRUITING teams will tour the North-East this week in a bid to encourage more young people to join the Army.
Representatives of three local regiments - the Royal Logistics Corps, the 4th Regiment Royal Artillery and the 7th Regiment Light Infantry - will be in Darlington town centre today and tomorrow.
The Light Infantry will also be talking to residents of Bishop Auckland, in the town centre on Wednesday.
Warrant Officer Garry Bennett, office manager at the Darlington Army Careers Information Office, said: "We know that the best way for young people to find out what life is really like in the Army is for them to speak directly to serving soldiers."
