THE public is being consulted on plans to change the way a North-East fire brigade will operate as part of a national modernisation agenda for the Fire Service.
Cleveland Fire Authority has produced a five-year risk management plan for the brigade that aims to reduce the risk of death or injury from fires and other emergencies.
Now they are asking members of the public, staff and other groups to comment on the document, which focuses on improving fire prevention, protection and response, during a 12-week consultation process until January 23.
The document is available for inspection at brigade headquarters and on its website, www.clevelandfire.gov.uk
Its main points have been summarised in a leaflet which is available in all fire stations through the brigade area and all libraries in the four council districts.
Information on the plan has also been included in the four council publications distributed to all homes in Hartlepool, Stockton, Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland.
