A BIRTHDAY party held for a businesswoman resulted in her being banned from driving after she was caught more than three times over the drink-drive limit.
Harrogate Magistrates' Court heard yesterday how Jacqueline Addy, who pleaded guilty to drink-driving, had been celebrating her 55th birthday.
Police stopped her in the early hours of Thursday, October 23, on the A59 near Fewston.
Robert Norris, in mitigation, said the evening had ended with Addy receiving family news which had depressed her, so she had another drink before she went home.
Addy, of Low House Farm, Thornthwaite, near Pateley bridge, was fined £400 with £55 costs and given a 30-month driving ban.
