A HISTORY guide to Barnard Castle has been produced by two year seven girls at Teesdale Comprehensive School.
Charlotte Bowron and Gillian Teward produced the guide as part of a history course. They are hoping it will be printed and made available to visitors.
Students in Charlotte and Gillian's form spent a morning completing a history trail around Barnard Castle with teacher Simon Henderson.
The students then made some additional research into local history before producing the booklet as part of a competition.
The work was judged by sixth form students Lyndsey Farrell and Claire Allinson, who commented on the high standard of work.
They were particularly impressed with the detailed information in Charlotte and Gillian's booklet, and the quality of the presentation of their work.
It is hoped the booklet will be made available in local tourist information outlets.
