HISTORY DISPLAY: An exhibition of photographs, maps, and books relating to Howden-le-Wear and Fir Tree, dating from the late 19th century, will form part of an exhibition organised by the Howden-le-Wear Local History Society on Saturday, from 10am to 4pm, in Howden Community Centre.
Also on display will be a Victorian project by children at Howden-le-Wear Junior School.
CRICKET CLUB: Crook Town Cricket Club is holding a family disco on Saturday, from 7pm to 11pm.
The club's annual meeting will be on Wednesday, December 10, at 7.30pm in the social club.

SPONSORED TODDLE: Diane Mullinger, section leader of Hartside Community Centre's mother and toddler group, in Crook, helped 16 children aged up to three to raise £200 for BBC television's Children In Need appeal with a sponsored toddle around the Hartside school playground.
CHRISTMAS FAIR: St Catherine's Church, Crook, will be holding a Christmas fair on Saturday, from 9.30am to noon, in the community centre, Market Place, Crook.
FESTIVE LIGHTS: Father Christmas will attend the switching on of Crook's Christmas lights on Friday.
