A DATE has been set for a crucial meeting which could decide the destiny of a parcel of council-owned land in Richmond, at the centre of controversy since the local authority indicated it may be sold.
Richmondshire District Council's resources committee will debate what is to be done with Westfields at Richmond School's Middle School Hall at 6.30pm on Thursday, December 11. The meeting has been prompted by an outcry after the announcement that the council was reviewing its assets in line with recent Government recommendations.
As well as Westfields, the Council will also be looking at other holdings, including Jack Kings Wood and land at Reeth Road and Sleegill.
The council's executive director, Tony Clark said: "People wishing to express further comments are encouraged to submit their views early."
