PUPILS at a primary school have raised £2,635 by skipping. The children at Hartburn primary, Hartburn, Stockton, skipped all day long to raise the cash for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and £800 for the school to use on outdoor sports equipment, which it is hoped will help the school gain Active Sports Mark status. Carole Sanderson, school governor and chairman of the BHF Stockton branch - pictured above with acting headteacher Graham Rickard and skippers, from left, Shaun Rees, Thomas Belski, Emily Lockwood and Shannon Gatenby - said: "Every class was involved and took part in 20-minute sessions right through the day. On behalf of the British Heart Foundation we would like to say thank you very much to everyone involved." She received the money at a ceremony at the school.
