AN unemployed labourer hanged himself after earlier telling a friend "It's a nice night to kill yourself''.
An inquest heard John Hunter had a history of self harm and suicide attempts.
Mr Hunter, 46, who had depression and a personality disorder, had received psychiatric help since 1976.
Police who broke into Mr Hunter's home, at Grange Estate, Lazenby, near Redcar, last April, found him hanging from a rope.
Teesside Coroner Michael Sheffield recorded a verdict that Mr Hunter killed himself.
